Post: Social Worker/Case Management Officer

Christian Legal Society of Zimbabwe is a faith based non-profit making organization, which provides free legal assistance to vulnerable populations. The Organization is seeking a qualified professional to take up the position of Social Worker/Case Management Officer in Bulawayo. We seek an individual with an ability to
work independently with minimal supervision, motivation and passion for achieving best outcomes for children and tackling issues of children in contact with the law in Zimbabwe.

Key responsibilities
-Provide direct counseling/ therapeutic support to children who have come in contact with the law as well as their families
-Complete follow-ups on reports received of children, including home visits within the community
-Work in collaboration with the Ministry of Justice, Police, Social Services Department and other relevant Government departments in ensuring children’s safety
-Work jointly with other stakeholders in the field of children’s services, making referrals and networking
-Assist in capacity development and training of community-based child protection structures
-Compile monthly reports of a high standard
-Maintain accurate case records and attend regular supervision
-Facilitating Meetings on awareness on child rights issues in the communities
-Work as part of a team towards achieving the organization’s objectives

Candidate skills and competence
-Possess a university degree in Social Work or post graduate diploma in Social Work
-Registration as a Social Worker in terms of the Social Workers Act (Chapter 27:21) and a current practicing certificate
-A certificate in counseling would be an added advantage
-At least two (2) years’ experience working with vulnerable groups, particularly children and in primary Social Work
-Ability to work with little or no supervision
-Results oriented and able to work under pressure and with strict deadlines
-Experience working with children, women, local community structures and government structures
-Computer Literate (able to use Excel)
-Excellent report writing skills
-Good analytical and problem solving skills
-Excellent communication skills as well as speak fluently in both Ndebele and Shona

Programme Development and Funding Officer (Southern Africa): CAFOD

Job profile
The Harare based Programme Development and Funding Officer will support CAFOD’s programme staff and partners in Southern Africa in developing high quality programmes and projects, ensuring CAFOD and its partners obtain significant institutional donor funding for its development and humanitarian work, and maintain and strengthen CAFOD’s relationships with key donors.

Job role
You will be required to work with a range of different institutional donors and on a number of different technical programmes. To undertake this you will need extensive international experience in insecure environments together with a proven track record of developing successful funding proposals and writing and presenting reports to donors. You will need experience of working in Southern Africa. You will need excellent communication, finance, strategic and diplomacy skills; you will also be an effective team player.

Resource Mobilisation and Fundraising Adviser: Progressio

The Progressio Development Worker will enhance the capacity of the Diocese of Mutare Community Care Programme (DOMCCP) to engage in fundraising and resource mobilisation in order to effectively implement and sustain its health and wellness interventions in the Manicaland Province. S/he will assist DOMCCP to develop a fundraising and resource mobilisation strategy that will enable them to successfully implement their strategic plan for 2011 – 2015, and ensure the sustainability of the organisation and delivery of high quality programming.

The successful candidate should have a Degree in International Development, Project Planning and Management, Social Sciences, or other relevant disciplines.

A minimum of three years’ work experience in Gender/HIV and AIDS development work with Christian faith-based organisations (FBOs) or civil society organisations in an advisory/support capacity; a successful track record in securing funding from institutional donors (based in the Southern Africa region and beyond), and direct experience in training, specifically in resource mobilisation, strategic planning, results-based management and reporting is essential. You should have experience of networking/building/managing relationships with donors and writing successful funding proposals and reports; working with community Boards, and in a resource poor environment, where access to technology is limited.

Fundraising and Knowledge Management Adviser: Progressio

OVC Program Officer: National NGO

Executive Director: Local NGO

A local NGO with a vision for the success of women in national decision-making positions is seeking the services of an Executive Director.

Minimum qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in any social sciences or business studies, plus significant postgraduate participation in women advancement related seminars. A Masters Degree is an added advantage. Have at least 12 years relevant experience, including 6 years in NGO.

Finance Officer: UZ-UCSF Collaborative Research Programme

Background
UZ-UCSF Collaborative Research Programme on behalf of The International Training and Education Center for Health (I-TECH) is seeking for suitably trained and qualified applicants to fill the position of Finance Officer in Harare.

I-TECH is collaboration between the University of Washington and the University of California, San Francisco and is a center in the University of Washington’s Department of Global Health with offices throughout Africa, Asia, and the Caribbean.

Qualifications and experience
-Bachelors Degree in Accounting or ACCA or equivalent
-At least 5 years experience of which two years must be in the Not For Profit environment
-Good knowledge and experience with Accounting Software such as SAGE ERP 1000 accounting system
-Demonstrated skills in budgeting, contract management, implementing financial policies and procedures and compiling management reports for decision making
-Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, decision-making, organizational and communication skills
-Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work effectively in a demanding environment
-Demonstrated ability to work both collaboratively and independently
-Clear written and verbal communication skills, and close attention to detail
-Computer skills including SAGE, MS Office packages, and related applications
-Experience working with the Government of Zimbabwe, USG funded programs, CDC and related NGOs
-Good command of English, both oral and written, is required

Responsibilities
The incumbent will be responsible for:
-Working with the I-TECH Country Director and her team in the compilation and preparation of annual budgets and related budget justifications working closely with the Senior Grant Analyst
-Preparing monthly invoices and other documentation for reimbursements and required trackers according to set timelines
-Drafting, implementing and monitoring of all financial policies and procedures in full compliance with all laws and regulations affecting day to day activities of UZ-UCSF/I-TECH
-Providing timely financial reports for reviewing before they are sent to I-TECH Head Office
-Effecting e-banking transactions and follow up on documentation sent to the bank for payments and reviewing all payment computations for accuracy, completeness, correct classification and validity
-Addressing all I-TECH’s financial administration and clerical needs and working closely with the UZ-UCSF Admin team for all the relevant sections.
